Guided visit to the Plaza de Toros of Seville and La Maestranza de Caballería
Discover with our guided tour La Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, the name given to the bullring, or more popularly known as the “Coso del Baratillo” by the Sevillians, is owned by the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, a noble corporation founded by King Charles II in 1670, being an institution that arises for the practice of riding and horseback combat. The Seville Maestranza established its ordinances in 1671 and is the second oldest in Spain after Ronda.
During our visit we will admire the architecture of the bullring whose construction began in 1754, when bullfighting on foot began to become popular, but it was in 1761 when the architect Vicente de San Martín gave the definitive impetus to the works. By 1839 half of the bullring was built and it was 1880 when it was finally completed.
The Maestranza of Seville is one of the oldest of its kind, its beauty, wonderful acoustics and tradition make it the cathedral of the bullfighting world.
The famous “Silence” of the bullring is applied by the fans to those bullfights that deserve it.
On our guided tour we will also visit the Bullfighting Museum, one of the oldest and most complete in Spain, where we can delve into the origins of bullfighting in our country.
The main door of the Maestranza, Puerta del Príncipe, is the one that all masters want to open even if it is only once in a lifetime.
GOOD LUCK AND BULLFIGHTING!
The visit to the Plaza de Toros de Sevilla takes about an hour, so we recommend you to combine it with other views.

Discover Seville with a Private Guide
My aim is that you get to know my city in a pleasant and friendly way. All my guided tours are adapted to each visitor, taking into account their personal tastes. Seville offers a lot, a wide cultural heritage, a rich gastronomy or vibrant traditions. That’s why showing this city, not only requires knowledge but also knowing how to connect and move the public, and this is given by the experience of more than 25 years that I have been an official local guide in Seville. In Sevilla Walks you will find different types of tours always adapted to the public to which they are finally addressed.
