Private Guided Tour of The Jewish quarter of Seville
Discover all the corners and curiosities of the Jewish quarter of Seville with my two and a half hour visit
Guided visit to the Jewish quarter of Seville. Visit the Barrio de Santa Cruz with a local guide.
On this guided tour you will get to know the Jewish quarter of Seville, its history and its nooks and crannies. The Jewish presence in Seville dates back to the 4th century, and was accentuated in the Visigothic period, during which time there were persecutions, so it is not surprising that in the year 711 the Jews of Seville waited with open arms for the Muslims, until the intransigence of the Almoravids and Almohads displaced them towards the Christian kingdoms in the 11th century. It reached its splendour in the 14th century, during the reign of Pedro I of Castile, the cruel or the righteous, depending on who was talking about him. During the private visit to the Jewish Quarter of Seville we will pass by the three synagogues that existed in the city and we will immerse ourselves in the Hebrew gastronomy and culture.
The tour lasts two and a half hours and you will be accompanied at all times by an Official Local Guide.
